Upon completion of this training course, you will be able to:

- Interpret the ISO/IEC 42001 requirements for AI management systems from an auditor's perspective.
- Assess the conformity of an AI management system with ISO/IEC 42001 requirements, adhering to fundamental audit concepts and principles.
- Plan, execute, and finalize an ISO/IEC 42001 compliance audit in accordance with ISO/IEC 17021-1 requirements, ISO 19011 guidelines, and general auditing best practices.
- Manage an ISO/IEC 42001 audit program.

Examination
The “PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Auditor” exam fulfills the requirements of the PECB Examination and Certification Program (ECP). It encompasses the following competency domains:
Domain 1: Fundamental principles and concepts of AI management systems
Domain 2: AI management system requirements
Domain 3: Fundamental audit concepts and principles
Domain 4: Preparing an ISO/IEC 42001 audit
Domain 5: Conducting an ISO/IEC 42001 audit
Domain 6: Closing an ISO/IEC 42001 audit
Domain 7: Managing an ISO/IEC 42001 audit program

Certification
PECB ISO/IEC 42001 Certification Path and Requirements
After successfully passing the examination, you may apply for one of four professional credentials based on your level of experience. All credentials require passing the PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Auditor Exam (or an approved equivalent) and signing the PECB Code of Ethics.
1. Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Provisional Auditor
Best suited for newcomers to the field who have mastered theoretical knowledge but lack practical auditing or industry experience.

Exam Requirement: Pass the PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Auditor Exam (or equivalent).

Professional Experience: None required.

2. Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Auditor
Designed for professionals with a foundational level of experience in artificial intelligence management and auditing.

Exam Requirement: Pass the PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Auditor Exam (or equivalent).

Professional Experience: Two years total, including at least one year of specific work experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Management System Audit Experience: A minimum total of 200 hours of qualifying audit activities.

Additional Requirement: Sign the PECB Code of Ethics.
3. Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Auditor
The standard credential for experienced professionals qualified to plan, lead, and manage AI management system audit teams.

Exam Requirement: Pass the PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Auditor Exam (or equivalent).

Professional Experience: Five years total, including at least two years of specific work experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Management System Audit Experience: A minimum total of 300 hours of qualifying audit activities.

Additional Requirement: Sign the PECB Code of Ethics.
4. Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Senior Lead Auditor
The highest tier for expert practitioners with comprehensive, long-term leadership experience in auditing AI frameworks.

Exam Requirement: Pass the PECB Certified ISO/IEC 42001 Lead Auditor Exam (or equivalent).

Professional Experience: Ten years total, including at least seven years of specific work experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Management System Audit Experience: A minimum total of 1,000 hours of qualifying audit activities.

Additional Requirement: Sign the PECB Code of Ethics.
Note on Qualifying Audit Activities: For audit hours to be recognized by PECB, they must adhere to best practices and include activities such as audit planning, managing audit programs, drafting audit or nonconformity reports, conducting on-site audits, and leading audit teams.
General
- Certification and examination fees are included in the cost of the training course.
- Participants receive training course materials containing over 450 pages of explanatory content, examples, best practices, exercises, and quizzes.
- An attestation of course completion worth 31 CPD (Continuing Professional Development) credits is issued to participants who attend the training course.
- If a candidate fails the exam, they may retake it free of charge within 12 months of their initial attempt.

The primary prerequisite for enrolling in this training course is a foundational understanding of ISO/IEC 42001, as well as the principles and concepts of AI.
