Day 3: Executing the BCMS implementation

Day 4: Performance evaluation, continual improvement, and certification audit preparation

Day 5: Certification exam

The “PECB Certified ISO 22301 Lead Implementer” exam adheres to the PECB Examination and Certification Program (ECP) standards. The examination encompasses the following competency domains:

Domain 1: Fundamental principles and concepts of a BCMS

Domain 2: Initiating the BCMS implementation

Domain 3: Planning the BCMS implementation in line with ISO 22301

Domain 4: Implementing the BCMS based on ISO 22301

Domain 5: Assessing BCMS performance according to ISO 22301

Domain 6: Driving continual improvement of the BCMS based on ISO 22301

Domain 7: Preparation for the BCMS certification audit 

PECB ISO 22301 Implementer Certification Requirements

To obtain PECB ISO 22301 certification, candidates must successfully pass the PECB Certified ISO 22301 Lead Implementer Exam (or an approved equivalent) and agree to adhere to the PECB Code of Ethics.

Based on your professional background and hands-on project experience, you may apply for one of four distinct credential levels:

1. Provisional Implementer

  • Credential: PECB Certified ISO 22301 Provisional Implementer

  • Professional Experience Required: None

  • BCMS Project Experience Required: None

  • Best Suited For: Industry newcomers or professionals transitioning into business continuity management who have passed the exam but have not yet accrued relevant field hours.

2. Implementer

  • Credential: PECB Certified ISO 22301 Implementer

  • Professional Experience Required: Two years in total, including at least one year dedicated to Business Continuity Management.

  • BCMS Project Experience Required: A minimum of 200 cumulative hours of project activities.

3. Lead Implementer

  • Credential: PECB Certified ISO 22301 Lead Implementer

  • Professional Experience Required: Five years in total, with at least two years focused on Business Continuity Management.

  • BCMS Project Experience Required: A minimum of 300 cumulative hours of project activities.

4. Senior Lead Implementer

  • Credential: PECB Certified ISO 22301 Senior Lead Implementer

  • Professional Experience Required: Ten years in total, including at least seven years dedicated to Business Continuity Management.

  • BCMS Project Experience Required: A minimum of 1,000 cumulative hours of project activities.
