This course is structured into two complementary sections: theoretical and practical. The one-day theoretical segment introduces the motivation, philosophy, fundamentals, and operational rules of the SIP protocol, along with its application in implementing telecom services, with a specific focus on IP telephony and VoIP. The subsequent two-day practical segment allows participants to explore the operational aspects of services through hands-on laboratory exercises. These exercises provide detailed insight into configuring SIP telephony architecture components, analyzing SIP signaling at both message sequence chart and internal message structure levels, and address typical issues and troubleshooting, including security and telecom fraud considerations. Trainers will share their expertise in launching, operating, and managing SIP telephony systems, encompassing virtualization and cloud-based solutions. The practical portion utilizes both SIP hardphones and softphones alongside IP telephony servers (Asterisk and Freeswitch). Participants can leverage the trainers' extensive technical and business experience in IP telephony by submitting their own problems and questions, which will be incorporated into the agenda's wrap-up session to address current client needs. Additionally, the curriculum addresses call setup procedures between circuit-switched and packet-switched networks.
